Hello, everyone! It seems that everyone owns a Morphe palette these days so I thought it was about time that I finally tried one out for myself. When I saw that Morphe were releasing the Morphe 35G palette, I knew I needed it in my life and ordered it as soon as it was available. I’ve been using this palette solidly for about a week now so I think I can finally share my thoughts.
To start off with, I can’t believe how inexpensive these palettes are! You get 35 shades for £24, absolute bargain! In the actual palette, you get 10/11 matte shades and the rest are gorgeous shimmers. You can probably guess by the title but this palette is filled with beautiful bronze shades – perfect for summer. When you think of bronze eyeshadows, it can be a bit underwhelming but this palette is the complete opposite with shades ranging from copper to rose, to champagne.
The only thing that I would have liked in this palette is a mirror but for £24 you can’t complain too much. To me, the packaging does feel quite inexpensive as it cardboard but that’s not exactly a huge deal, especially when the palette itself was pretty cheap.
Let’s start off with the mattes. The first shades that I tried out were ‘Sandy’ and ‘Deserted’, they’re both very neutral transition shades so I was shocked by how pigmented they are. Not only are the mattes very pigmented, but they also blend so easily. In all honesty, you could use these shades all over your lid and just leave it like that if you want a very minimal makeup look.
The 35G palette is all about the glitters and I can confirm that they are truly stunning but I will admit that they don’t perhaps last as long as I would like them to. Saying that, the shimmer would last if I were to go out for a few hours, it’s just that they don’t tend to last all day. I also find that the shimmers work a lot better if I use a setting spray on my brush or if I use my fingers to apply the shadows onto my eyelids. Regardless of this, once the eyeshadows are actually on your eyelid, they do look so beautiful and they all blend together wonderfully. Personally, I find nothing worse than an eyeshadow that just won’t blend.
I do find that there is a lot of shade variety in this palette despite it being a palette of just 35 bronze shades, there are a lot of different looks that you could create. Whether you’re going out-out or you just fancy adding a bit of sparkle in your everyday life, there’s a look for everyone. I don’t know a single person that doesn’t love a good bronzey eyeshadow so I would definitely recommend this palette, especially if you’re fairly new to makeup as it is super easy to use and there’s a lot you can do with it.
Today I used the shades:
- ‘Sandy’ and ‘Deserted’ as transition shades.
- ‘Toasted’ and ‘Nekked’ in my crease to add definition
- ‘Tropics’ and Hey Vacay’ on my lid
- ‘Glaze’ in my inner corners and under my brow bone to highlight.
