October Favourites

Hello, again! I cannot believe that October is pretty much over already – how crazy! I hope everyone has enjoyed getting into the spooky spirit of Halloween. So this month I properly started my master’s course and I think it’s going pretty well, I’m Course Rep too. I went to London with Daniel to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. It was a pretty great day, we went shopping around Oxford Street and then went to Gordon Ramsay’s Street Pizza restaurant (it’s amazing, everyone needs to go there). Would it be the end of the month without another favourites post?

I’ve mentioned this on my blog a few times over the past month so it’s only fair that I share this in my October Faves. I did write a whole review of the Beauty Bay Origin palette, so feel free to check that out. If you don’t know, Beauty Bay recently released 3 eyeshadow palettes that feature 42 shades in each one. The colours are so pigmented and go so well together that I’ve used it pretty much every day since I bought it. I love the Origin palette as the colours are so warm and autumnal, I just can’t get enough.

This is another product that I recently mentioned on my blog. Everyone has been talking about the Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation and it seems to have very mixed reviews. At first, I wasn’t a huge fan as I found that it made my skin look dry and patchy. However, I started using a beauty blender instead of a makeup brush and now I found that it makes my skin look so dewy. Honestly, this foundation is pretty full coverage and lasts such a long time, it’s definitely an absolute bargain for only £9!

So I bought this mascara from the Too Faced shop on Carnaby Street and I am obsessed. Anyone who knows anything about makeup will know that the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is a classic and loved by many, so I thought it was only right to try it myself. It can look a little clumpy – which I actually quite like – but it may not be to everyone’s taste. This is another product that will last all day long and I’m pretty sure I will repurchase this when it runs out.

When I was at Carnaby Street, I also found the Spectrum store and decided to pick up a few brushes. I knew I needed some eyeshadow brushes so I chose the A07, A12, and B04 and I am in love. These brushes are so soft and fluffy and I actually think that they make my eyeshadow look 10x better. The best thing is that they were on 3 for 2 so I may even buy some more as these are honestly the best makeup brushes that I have used. Also, Spectrum brushes are all vegan and cruelty-free so I’d definitely recommend having a look at them if you’re in need of some new brushes.D1CCEF10-E480-4B77-B39A-4EF104A1FD0F 2.JPEG

It’s also that time of year where there are some quality TV shows about. Here in the UK, The Apprentice has made its annual return which I am very excited about – love a bit of Alan Sugar. Dynasty has also returned to Netflix and it is as dramatic as ever. For those of you who may not know, Dynasty is an American show revolving around a very wealthy family in Atlanta, called The Carringtons.

Another show that recently returned is my all-time favourite show This Is Us. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much watching a show in all my life but it is so worth it. This Is Us is another American show that follows the lives and families of two parents and their three children who share the same birthday as their father. The show switches between the past and present-day and it makes you feel all the feels. I believe the first season is on Amazon Prime if you fancy giving it a watch.

So that’s it for this month’s favourites. Now we have Bonfire Night to look forward to as well as Black Friday and generally getting in the Christmas Spirit. What have you loved in October?
