Hello, everyone! I don’t know about you but this colder weather is making me so tired, or maybe it’s just because I’m back at uni and have a lot of work to do. Either way, I’m pretty tired. I’ve also noticed that my skin has been really bad so I’ve been trying my absolute best to get clear skin again. I thought I would share with you some tips on how I get clearer skin. My skin is fairly normal so some of these tips may not work if you have super dry or oily skin but I suppose skincare is all about trial and error.
The first thing that I do is make sure that I take all of my makeup off. The thing that works best for my skin is to take off most of my makeup with either a wipe or a cleansing balm. I particularly like the Pixi Cleansing Balm as it leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth. I bet this balm would work wonders if you have dry skin as it is so nourishing and moisturising – with thanks to the almond oil and cocoa butter. Also, it’s worth mentioning that this product is vegan and cruelty-free. To make sure that I’ve got all of the makeup and any dirt off my skin, I’ll use some micellar water and a cotton pad to get rid of it all.
Now that my face is clean, I will then use a face wash to unclog my pores. My favourite face wash at the moment is the Simple Daily Detox Purifying Face Wash as it doesn’t feel too harsh on your skin but it also makes your skin look instantly hydrated and healthier. I love that this face wash is full of natural ingredients and vitamins so I make sure to use this every night and every morning. If my skin is in desperate need of some help, I will also use a purifying face mask. To be honest, I just like any excuse to put on a face mask. My favourite face mask to help get rid of blemishes is the L’Oreal Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask as it is made with marine algae to target deep into the pores and unclog blackheads. Honestly, you can feel it working as you put it on and it doesn’t dry out your skin.
Now that my skin is sufficiently detoxed, I shall put on a light moisturiser to prevent my skin from drying out. At the moment, I’m loving the Garnier Pure Active moisturiser as it is so light but it instantly makes your face look so much clearer. This moisturiser is only £6.99 and I would honestly recommend it to anyone that would listen. I love that this product is specifically designed for sensitive skin as it is made with zinc and witch hazel to really clear your skin without creating any dry patches. In the morning, I will typically put on a thicker moisturiser but I really love this Garnier moisturiser after I’ve done a full skincare routine.
I know this may seem quite complex, but I will only use all of these steps when my skin is really bad. If you are having trouble with your skin, I would recommend drinking lots of water and also checking if anything you have eaten has caused a breakout. Also, check any makeup/beauty products that you have tried recently as sometimes that can cause a breakout/reaction.
