September Favourites

Hello, everyone! It’s that time again where I share my monthly favourites. September has gone so quickly but at the same time, it feels like it lasted forever. Not much has happened other than starting uni last week. My course officially starts today but Welcome Week was last week. I have to say, my first week at uni was a lot more successful than I thought it would be, I actually made friends and I joined the documentary society. On another note, we are officially in autumn now and I am loving it. I am so excited for cooler weather, hot drinks, and chunky jumpers. Anyway, here are some things that I have been loving over the past month.

The first thing that I have been loving is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Volume III palette. This eyeshadow palette is so stunning and the shimmers are all so beautiful. The only thing that you may not like about this palette is that there is only one matte shade but I don’t mind that too much. I do love a good shimmer shade and this is probably the most beautiful eyeshadow palette that I own, even the packaging is stunning. I used this palette in my Autumnal Makeup Look so if you want to see me using it then click here.

4BB98F5E-A3C8-4301-BEC2-DACB78FA74C3The next thing that I have been loving is the Revolution X Imogenation Highlight to the Moon palette. This palette includes three contour shades, three powders, and four highlighters but it only costs £10… bargain! I’m not lying when I say that I have used this palette every single day in September. I have to say, the contour shades are so perfect; they’re not too warm toned but they also don’t look grey. I love the highlighters too, my favourites are the two shades in the middle as they’re a little bit more subtle and look gorgeous for every day. If you want more information, I did write a more detailed review so feel free to check that out.

IMG_7685A little while ago I was sent a Maybelline Colour Sensational lipstick to try from Glamour Beauty. I have to admit, I thought they would be sending a sample but they actually sent a full lipstick and I am so glad they did as this lipstick is my new favourite. I was sent this lipstick in the shade 930 and it is the perfect pinky nude colour, it has made its way into my daily makeup bag. It reminds me of Velvet Teddy from Mac but it’s a lot cheaper. I know a lot of people aren’t the biggest fans of matte lipsticks as they can be quite drying on your lips, but the Colour Sensational lipsticks are so creamy and moisturising but they still have such a great colour pay off.

One of the TV shows that I watched in September was Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I have been meaning to watch this for the longest time and I’m so glad that I did because I am OBSESSED with it now. If you haven’t seen Brooklyn Nine-Nine and you’re a fan of the likes of Parks and Recreation or The Office then I would 100% recommend this show as it is so funny but I also feel emotionally invested in it. I cannot wait for season 6, thanks to NBC for not letting it get cancelled. You can watch B99 on Netflix.

I am doing a Masters in Documentary Journalism so I think it’s safe to say I love a good documentary. So we recently came across a mockumentary series called American Vandal and it seemed pretty silly but we decided to give it a go anyway. Even though the plot is pretty stupid, I loved this mockumentary. From a production point of view, the visuals are insane and it is just so well-made it could pass as an actual documentary. Also in September, season 5 of BoJack Horseman came out so of course, I loved that as I have loved every other season of it. BoJack Horseman is one of those shows that everyone should watch at some point in their lives and I’m sure most of you will know what it is by now as it’s pretty popular. Both shows are available on Netflix.

I have quite small ears so I often find that, big earrings look a bit strange on me. However, I recently went into New Look and I fell in love with these face silhouette earrings. I remember asking Dan what he thought of these earrings as I wanted a second opinion but he hated them. I bought them anyway and I have had so many compliments on them that I am glad I ignored him. I think these earrings are so perfect as a statement piece, they instantly stand out and make you look so stylish and put-together.

Next up is another item from New Look. I used to love New Look but I feel like the quality of their clothes has gone down a lot over the past year or two so I never really go in there anymore. Anyway, I decided to wander into New Look a few weeks ago and I found this gorgeous shirt. I have seen this style around for a little while now and I have been wanting to try it out so I couldn’t resist buying this shirt. It’s the perfect beige/coffee colour with bold, black stripes and it looks so good tucked into black skinny jeans with ankle boots. New Look had this style of shirt in so many different colours and I believe they’re all in the sale now so I may have to go back to buy some more because I know I will get so much wear out of this.

So I love FibreOne bars as they taste so good but they are also pretty low in calories so you can have a sweet treat without the guilt. Recently, I noticed that FibreOne released new cake bars and one of them is carrot cake flavoured. Honestly, I nearly did a little when I tried it first because it is so nice. I have had one of these pretty much daily and I am obsessed. I think they are £1.50 in Asda at the moment and they also do other flavours if carrot cake isn’t your thing. The other thing that I’ve been loving is orange-flavoured Kit Kats. Chocolate orange is one of my all-time favourite flavours so when I found out you could get Kit Kats in this flavour, I was very excited.

How was your September? I hope you have a brilliant October

  1. Good luck with your Masters! 🙂 That lipstick looks great – I love the Glamour Beauty club too. I’ve gotten some great stuff from it!

  2. Wow, those are really great products. I do love the color and the packaging of that palette it is so pretty and I am sure my sister would love it.

  3. Great content! I’ve been wanting to try the Maybelline lipstick but was worried about the quality. Definitely going to pick up a color this weekend

  4. That lipstick looks great, I too love the Glamour Beauty club. That shirt looks cool and the earrings are quite a catch. I have heard about Brooklyn 99 didn’t get time to see it yet.

  5. I love the eye shadow palette, but the lipstick is my favorite! I love The Office and Parks & Rec so I’ll have to check out Brooklyn 99. My step-daughter is always telling me how funny it is.

  6. I like that striped blouse of yours as it’s so timeless and elegant. Love that. I’m more of a fan of studs than dangling earrings, so this is definitely something I will take time to try out.

  7. My September was very busy and went by in a blur! It was a month of both fond sentimental remembrances (my Dad passed away in September 2002), and a time of celebration (my oldest granddaughter’s 6th birthday, and her mommy’s – my daughter’s – birthday). Our fall foliage here in Maine was beautiful as always – I never get tired of it!
