Hi, everyone! We’re starting to get into that transitional period where Summer is going but we’re not quite in autumn yet. As the days are getting shorter and X-Factor is back on our tellies, I am getting so excited for autumn. To me, autumn means that I can wear more jumpers, eat more roast dinners, and cosy up with a hot latte. I also get excited because autumn fashion is my absolute favourite, I love walking around the shops and creating new outfits in my head. I thought it would be fun to show you the clothes that I have recently bought in preparation for the autumn months.
The first item that I bought was this burnt orange skirt from Primark. The paper bag tie waist and tortoiseshell buttons are very on trend at the moment and the colour is perfect for this time of year. This skirt is so flattering as you can tie the waist so that it cinches you in to accentuate your curves. You can style this skirt with tights, boots, and a roll neck top for ultimate warmth, or you could team it with a fitted ribbed top and sandals for those warmer days. I love that this skirt can be super casual or you could dress it up with really nice accessories and wear it out for a meal or cocktails. I bought this skirt in a size 8 for £10 and it is just a great price considering that this skirt is the same quality of somewhere like Topshop.
I have been looking for a new pair of jeans for ages and I found the perfect pair of girlfriend fit jeans in Primark. I bought these in a size 8 as I wanted them to be a little oversized and they were £15 which is a really good price for a decent pair of jeans. I love that the holes in the knees actually line up with my knees and the holes aren’t too big. These are so comfortable and perfect for autumn as you can pair it with a super cosy jumper or a slouchy t-shirt. You could also style it up with a pair of heels but that’s not really my style. It’s nice and cropped so you could style it with a really nice pair of loafers or mules for a more classy look. I definitely recommend having a look in Primark as their autumn/winter range is actually really good and their prices are even better. I used to refuse to shop in Primark but over the past couple of years, they have really upped their game and now I am obsessed.
I’ve also been looking for a nice dungaree dress for the longest time. I am quite picky when it comes to dungaree dresses as I like them to be more fitted at the waist but I don’t want the whole dress to be fitted. ASOS recently had 20% off their whole website so of course I had to take advantage of that and I found this striped dungaree dress that is actually by Stradivarius, it costs £19.99 and I bought it in a size 6. Dungaree dresses are perfect for autumn and this dress will definitely be a staple in my wardrobe. I love that you can just wear this with a t-shirt and trainers for a casual afternoon, or you could dress it up with a cropped jumper and chelsea boots. I find that some dungaree dresses can be a bit too short but this one is the perfect length and I feel comfortable as I don’t have to constantly worry whether my butt cheeks are on show or not. I’ve never tried Stradivarius before but I will definitely be on the lookout for more of their items as this dress is of a really good quality and the price is really good too.
Topshop is probably my go-to store when I’m in need of some new clothes or some inspiration as I always love the clothes that are in Topshop and I know that the quality will be good so the next items are all from Topshop. The first item is this ribbed cropped jumper in grey. I actually think I have a problem as whenever I see a grey jumper, I just need to buy it, but honestly, this jumper is so soft and comfy. I love to style this with the girlfriend jeans that I bought from Primark with a pair of Vans for a super easy look that looks like you put more effort in that you actually did. I bought this jumper in a size 8 and it cost £29 and I am kind of tempted to get this jumper in the other colours too.
Is it really coming up to autumn if you haven’t just bought an abundance of thick cardigans and jumpers? Topshop has some lovely knitwear at the moment so I would definitely recommend having a look there. I bought this gorgeous grey cardigan in a size 8 for £29 and I know that I will not be taking this off. This cardigan makes any outfit instantly cute and cosy and I am living for it. It kind of looks a bit like my grandad would wear it with the (I don’t really know what you call it) inside out piping but it also has the tortoiseshell buttons so I bet this would go really well with the orange skirt that I bought from Primark.
Last but not least is this long sleeve scallop top, also from Topshop in grey. This top comes in a variety of colours and is going to be such a staple for autumn. A long sleeve top is great for layering so I would definitely recommend purchasing this top. I like to wear this underneath the dungaree dress that I recently bought as they go really well together and it keeps me warm. I did buy this top in a size 8 and I wish I bought it in a size 6 as it is a bit baggy but it’s not the end of the world. I paid £12 for this top which I think is a really good price for a top that is thick and is a basic item that I will be using a lot during the colder months.
So there are all the items that I’ve recently bought in preparation for autumn. Which item is your favourite and where do you like to shop the most? Let me know in the comments below.
