Christmas Tag 2017

Blogmas Day 14

There are 11 days left until Christmas so what’s more festive than a Christmas tag? I don’t know if people are still doing this but I thought it would be nice to answer some Christmassy questions to help you get to know me a little bit better.

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

For as long as I can remember, my brother and I would open one present on Christmas Eve whilst we watch some sort of Christmas film with various snacks and an abundance of hot chocolate. We still do open one gift on Christmas Eve if we choose to.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

We have had the same fake tree since I was born so this year I asked if we could get a real tree. I was surprised when my mum said yes but we drove to Elvedon to pick up a tree on December 2nd and brought it home to decorate. I have to say, having a real tree does make a difference and I hope we can get another real tree next year.

What is your favourite Christmas film?

This one is kind of hard as there are so many great Christmas films. It’s a tough choice between Love Actually and The Holiday. I’m going to have to go with Love Actually as I make sure to watch it every year to get into the festive spirit.

What is your favourite Christmas song?

This is such a hard question as I have a few that I love. Check out my Christmas party playlist for all of my favourites. I think the song that gets me most excited for Christmas is Do They Know It’s Christmas? by Band Aid as not only is it raising awareness for a great cause, but it’s such a great song and the chimes at the beginning of the song get you so excited.

What’s the best part of Christmas for you?

Everyone seems happier over Christmas so I love how excited everyone is to be together and celebrate the festivities. I actually love the build-up to Christmas such as thinking about what to buy your friends and family to then wrapping them whilst listening to Christmas music and overindulging on chocolate.

What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweet treat?

I love potatoes of all kinds so I make sure to keep space in my stomach for an abundance of potatoes. Who doesn’t love a box of celebrations too? What is your favourite in a box of celebrations? Mine is either a Malteser or Snickers.

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

  1. Growing up, we used to open our tree gifts on Christmas Eve, and then Santa (or our parents when we got older because they kept the tradition going) would put unwrapped gifts under the tree for Christmas morning for us. My husband and I now do our Christmas on Christmas Day, but I loved my tradition as I grew up and would love to continue that when we have children. But most of all, my favorite part about this whole season is spending a little extra time with family and taking the days a little slower. I know the hustle of shopping can get overwhelming, but I don’t let that happen to me. This time of year is so special to me so I love to cherish every moment.

  2. I am a fan of Love Actually as well, it is such a lovely movie, perfect to watch around the Christmas holidays. I used to have real trees when I was a child but growing up and seeing how long it actually takes for a tree to grow, I switched to plastic.

  3. Ahh lovely! Your fake Christmas tree must have done really well but I am glad you got to experience having a real one. I miss the smell of having a traditional tree! I’m so funny when it comes to chocolates.. We always have quality street and I only ever obsess over the green triangle, haha!

  4. This is a wonderful time of the year. I see happy faces everywhere, the houses are beautifully decorated and everyone wants to spend time with their loved ones. It is great that you have got a real Christmas tree this year! Merry Christmas!!!

  5. It is so nice to know your Christmas day routine, I do have many common things with you. My favorite thing about Christmas is being with family and having time off from the normal routine, having some favorite food, movies, and get-together with friends.

  6. The best part of Christmas for me is focusing on slowing down (amidst the hectic, of course!)… as it’s the time of year when I make mindful choices to slow down even though it’s so busy. I make time to enjoy the kids more, to hang up holiday decor with them, to really treasure my friendships, and to bake with my family. Just those daily little things that make the season so memorable. It’s all the little things that become big memories.

  7. My favorit part of Christmas is being with family, especially the little ones. The joy on their faces when opening gifts and their innocence of still being in Santa. My favorite movie is Miracle on 34th Street…the classic.
