Having a good skincare routine is so important to ensure that your skin stays clean, clear and healthy. Finding products that work for you is all about trial and error as what works for someone else’s skin, may not work for you. I often change up which products I use depending on what my skin is like and so that my skin doesn’t get too used to certain products. Over the past month, I have struggled with a few breakouts along with tired looking skin so these are the products that I have been using to try and combat that.
I start off by using a makeup wipe to get rid of any superficial makeup. I have been enjoying the Simple Micellar Cleansing Wipes as not only does this get rid of makeup, it helps unclog pores and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. These wipes feel particularly nice after wearing makeup all day as you can feel the moisture going back into your skin. It’s also important to stay hydrated during the day as this will make your skin look so much healthier and radiant.
I next use a deep cleanser to get rid of any makeup that has sunken into my skin. When I first started wearing makeup, I never used to do this and thinking about how much makeup there would’ve been left on my skin makes me feel so gross. I have been using the Clean and Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion as this helps to remove any buildup of oil and dirt in addition to getting rid of any leftover makeup. This product is for sensitive skin so it feels nice on the skin in addition to tightening pores and toning. As you can see, I haven’t got much left of this but I will definitely be repurchasing. I pour some of the cleanser onto a cotton wool pad and wipe it all over my face until I get rid of all the dirt and makeup residue.
The next step depends on how my skin is feeling so I may use an exfoliator or detox facial wash. However, today I used the L’Oreal Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask. I mentioned this in my October Favourites blog post. I love how this face mask feels so refreshing on my skin. I will put this all over my face or over the problem areas and leave it for 5-10 minutes so it can work its magic. The great thing about these face masks is that you can mix and match to cater for how your skin is on a certain day. When I wear this mask, I feel like it works immediately and my skin definitely looks better straight away.
I will then use a toner to reduce the look of my pores and make my skin look smoother. I have been using the Garnier SkinActive Green Tea Toner as it will pick up any leftover residue whilst making my skin look more even and smooth. Green tea actually has anti-aging and antioxidant benefits so this product is very good for your skin so I would recommend trying it if you haven’t already.
Lastly, I like to use the Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer to add some hydration into my skin. I use this as a daily moisturiser as it aims to combat any visible signs of stress such as redness, blemishes and uneven/dull-looking skin. My skin looks visibly better after letting this sink into my skin all night. I also love the fact that if you go to Kiehl’s and tell them what problems you are having with your skin, they will give you so many samples to try. I have just ordered the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado so I will be reviewing that as soon as it arrives.
What are your holy grail skincare products? I’d love to hear which ones you’d recommend.
Love this! ❤️

Great skin care advice 😀 I recently got the simple wipes too and love them aswell. I think being so moisture enriched makes them a little more skin friendly too, they feel more gentle than a regular dryer wipe. I will have to check out the clay mask, I feel like I need that!

Really cool routine and choice of products! I usually start with a nice cleansing milk, than I exfoliate… Every other day I use a carbonated bubble clay mask, after that is a good sea weed toner, followed by moisturizer and finally night cream.
I know it’s a lot but I swear it’s worth it!

I have read a lot of positive things on the pure clay mask so I might give it a go! My skincare routine is not as extensive as yours. Basically, it is just applying some micellar water

What a great skin care regimen, I’m currently using neutrogena’s acne control toner, but I’m tempted to try the garnier fructis green tea toner you mentioned. I think it will be less harsh on my skin. Thanks for the tips!

I’ve never been one to take care of my skin, It was always fairly clear but not for some reason its starting to break out, I’ve been trying to find the right mix for me in daily face care. I haven’t found one yet, But I have and still do use the Clean and Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion, I love how refreshed my face feels after using it.
