This is the first ever makeup review that I have written so I’m kind of nervous. I have written film reviews and TV reviews that were pretty successful so hopefully, I can do the same with makeup as that is another passion of mine. I recently purchased the Touche Éclat Le Teint foundation from Yves Saint Laurent, although this was accidental. I intended on purchasing the All Hours foundation after trying a sample and loving it but I didn’t realise until I got home that I picked up the wrong one. I loved the packaging too much to return it so I thought I would try it out and review it for anyone who is thinking about purchasing it. I have normal skin so unfortunately, I can’t comment on whether this would be good for oily or dry skin.
So let’s start with the packaging. This foundation comes in a beautiful glass bottle with a gold lid and YSL embossed on the top. However, the glass bottle does mean that the Touche Éclat isn’t quite as travel-friendly. As I have previously mentioned, the packaging completely sold me. The gold finish makes this foundation look very highbrow, almost justifying the price. I feel as though this packaging makes this product look very special and I kind of want to show it off to everyone. To apply the product, you can pump the foundation onto the back of your hand, onto your finger or straight onto your face. I find that a pump makes it so much easier to apply foundation as it prevents you from spilling it everywhere. Continuing with the gold theme, even the pump has a golden finish and I appreciate that. I do need to say that the foundation does look darker in the bottle than on the skin so don’t let that put you off. If you have any other YSL foundations, I would recommend testing the shades before purchasing this as I am the shade BR20 in the All Hours foundation but that shade is too dark in the Touche Éclat so please excuse that I look a little bit orange in these photos.
The application of the foundation is very nice. I do find that the Touche Éclat is runnier than most foundations I have tried but I feel as though that makes it easier to blend. You really do not need to put much work into blending this foundation, making it a great choice when you don’t have much time in the morning. YSL claim that the Touche Éclat is a full coverage foundation, however, I feel that it is more medium to light coverage. You will be able to see by my pictures that you can still see some of my blemishes and I would expect a full coverage foundation to hide most blemishes. I do prefer a medium coverage foundation so this isn’t a problem for me but I know that some people prefer a really full coverage foundation so if this is the case, the Touche Éclat probably isn’t for you.
You can apply this foundation with a brush for more coverage or with a sponge for a more radiant finish with less coverage. I like to use the Real Techniques blending sponge as I find this gives a really nice finish to this foundation and then I will go in with a thicker concealer to cover any blemishes. I would say that the Touche Éclat has more of a matte finish, especially after using concealer and powder. This foundation is not cakey at all, giving it a more natural look and making it easy to apply other products on top. As for the longevity of this product, the foundation will stay on all day if I remember to use powder to set it in place. I may have to top up my concealer to cover blemishes but I would expect that with any foundation. Of course, this foundation has the typical YSL foundation smell that we all know and love. The main thing that I love about this foundation is how radiant and healthy it makes my skin look (ignoring the orange tint because it’s too dark).
If you are a fan of the finer things in life then you will probably love this foundation purely for the packaging. I would recommend the Touche Éclat Le Teint if you love a medium coverage foundation that it gives a natural, radiant glow. This is an item that will make you feel special for having it in your collection so why not give it a go?

I really liked your review. Your face looks so clear! Most makeups seem like too much at times. But this looks natural.

Never tried any Touche Eclat Le Teint make up range before. After reading this review I will love to experience their product. And the process of applying foundation on face after pumping it in hand that you told over here is also amazing.. I will try this process from now.

I’m so used to my regular high end makeup like urban decay & toofaced. I haven’t considered the ysl Marc Jacobs or la mer. Definitely something to think about.

Yeah, they’re brands that aren’t talked about as much but they are just as good, if not better.

I like the look of this one, I’m currently working on Debenhams fragrance counters and the YSL counter is right next to it so I may have to give this one a little test, I’ve been looking for a new foundation!
